I have not posted for a number of days as my vacation from work ended and we are in the middle of a big project. On monday, at the opening speech of the World Development Forum in Johannesburg South Africa, The South African president, the honorable Mr. Thabo Mbeki , speaking at the opening session, followed up an earlier plea to end "global apartheid" between a rich minority and a mass of suffering poor. "A global human society based on poverty for many and prosperity for a few, characterized by islands of wealth, surrounded by a sea of poverty, is unsustainable," Mbeki said.
It seem to me that if there is such a thing as a group-mind function to the nature of consciousness that this is a clear indication of the mood of the world. The "Have -vs- Have-Not" conflict has raged since the beginning of recorded history. But never in the history of human civilization have the have-nots had so great a voice, with such a far reach and such global unanimity. Alvin Toffler, author of the seminal work "Future Shock" and "The Third Wave" correctly predicted, over 30 years ago, the future global conflict between the north and south replacing the east/west division of the time (cold-war e.g.) His prediction was based upon global poverty in the third world and the increasing level of communications, i.e. the internet. He was very right. For over 100 generations the vast majority of the human race has lived in abject poverty. From deep within, the group-mind is calling louder and louder. They seem to be listening, are we? Jesus Christ said "...and the meek shall inherit the earth." Perhaps he was listening too, and trying to warn us. They sound more and more like the words of a revolutionary. Whether or not you think that I'm a crack-pot this can only be interpreted as a call to arms and a warning to us all that the future and its responsibilities will no longer be denied or avoided. Right now, close your eye's and listen very carfully...
