The link at the beginning on this article is an excuse for the article. The Vision: A person walks down the road, he is garbed in a monks robe. The robe serves little practical purpose save for providing an identification to the environment around him (New York city, northern Saskatchawan...). Underneath the monks robe is a body hugging suit that serves a great deal of functions. The suit maintains a constant temperature of 72 degrees regardless of the environment. The suit acts as a low level resistance system that is cybernetic responsive to the wearer producing the effect of continuous, low level exercise. The suit monitors body state to insure good general health and is equip to provide basic medication to counteract the most common of health problems. The suit maintains a water gathering, body moisture recycling and filtration system to insure a constant supply of fresh water. The suit maintains a reservoir of nutrition that is added to the water to provide constant nutrition needed for survival. The Monk wears a set of goggles that provide a data display, night vision and communications. The suit is equip with a computer and a satellite up-link that provides central communications with other "monks" and other information services. The "monk" spends all of his or her time moving through society, independent of all needs and observing, learning. This is the sole function of the monk. to observe, learn and to share with other "monks" that knowledge. There is no central purpose only the ongoing process. the "monk" receives several years of training and apprenticeship involving martial arts, science, and environmental survival. observational and data gathering skills. Data interface is partially direct brain-wave interconnect. concentration and mental control are developed. the ongoing activity is "initiation", evolution. This is a Thelemic Monk.
