The symbolism of the 9/11 attack is so clear and so poignant that its hard not to think of it as the worst disaster in all of history. In many ways, it may be. It was without doubt the most visible. 100's of millions of people were witness to the unfolding horror that day. People all around the world. The greatest towers in the greatest world city where peace is crafted for all were falling and thousands were dying as we watched. It was an event so powerful, so visible, so tragic that I can't help but believe that when Nostradamus peered forward through the mists of time, this is what he saw. Like in the movie starwars, when Obi Wan swoons momentarily as the planet is destroyed as remarks that there has been "...a great disturbance in the force" the events of that day were a part of history even before they took place. In many ways ground zero now marks day zero on the calender. Even the Global Consciousness Project shows a remarkable spike in the results of their monitoring (check the site for details) that were publicized in the New York times on the day of the attack.
No, it was not the worst disaster in history. Tragically, it may not be the last. But you couldn't help thinking that you just watched a heavy-weight prize fighter beat a pregnant mother to death in a fight over the life of her unborn infant, and get paid $50.00 to do it. Just wrong. Its all just wrong.
